Cultured Golden Milk
Snuggle up on the sofa with this AIP friendly comfort drink. Mixed with the milk of your choice, our Golden Milk warms you up while being good to your body and giving your taste buds something to talk about. So settle on the sofa, put your favourite TV show on, bury yourself in your favourite blanket and sip on this beautiful AIP treat that everyone will love.
- 200ml milk of your choice (coconut, almond, organic dairy)
- 2 tsp K4 Cultured Turmeric Paste
- 1 tsp Manuka Honey
- 2 warm mugs
- 1 loved one to share
- Gently warm the milk through, but do not simmer or boil (high temperatures will hurt the K4 probiotics).
- Add the honey to the milk, stir until well dissolved and pour them into the warm mugs.
- Stir 1 tsp of K4 Cultured Turmeric Paste into each mug.

Watch as the golden colour develops through the milk (AIP or otherwise) and the sweet fragrance of Manuka Honey comes through, balancing the earthy freshness of the turmeric and black peppercorn.
The base for your Golden Milk all depends on what approach you take with your diet. If you’re vegan then almond milk will give a lovely nutty depth to your drink. If Paleo Autoimmune Protocol is more your thing then coconut milk is the go-to for this recipe. We recommend using our recipe for making your own coconut milk as many supermarket brands use guar gum or similar non-AIP thickeners.
The key to this drink is to not scald the milk; this is for two reasons. Firstly you don’t want to ruin the milk you are using by overheating it. Secondly, by keeping the temperature of the drink to warm instead of fresh-off-the-boil-hot you keep the probiotics in the fermented turmeric paste alive, meaning that they will be happy and healthy when they reach your gut, ready to get on with do their job of keeping you well.
Sticking with AIP can be made easier when you can indulge in a treat like this. Comforting and cosy as, Cultured Golden Milk is the perfect treat on a wet windy day indoors or as the nights draw in.
